Grey Wolf Optimizer-Based Optimal Controller Tuning Method for Unstable Cascade Processes with Time Delay

This paper presents a controller design technique for cascade control systems based on the grey wolf optimization (GWO) algorithm. In proposed scheme, proportional-integral-proportional-derivative (PI-PD) structure is used to both open-loop unstable process in primary loop and stable secondary loop. To determine optimal parameters, new algorithm which Euclidean distance function as multi-objective function. A symmetry property of that its does not depend starting point destination. The designed according system time response specifications such settling time, overshoot, steady-state error. Thus, allows simultaneous determination all parameters desired output response. Three simulation studies are presented results compared with using various methods internal model control, modified Smith predictor, genetic reveal method improves performances processes.
